General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Sudden increase of blood pressure can be due to stress or anxiety. Taking caffeinated beverages or smoking can be the cause also. In such case those should be avoided. Stress relaxation exercises like deep breathing exercises will be helpful. Sit relaxed and take deep breaths. You can do this a couple of times daily. If blood pressure is still remaining high even while you are taking anti hypertensive medication then increasing of dosage or adding another group of anti hypertensive medication should be considered after consulting your treating doctor. Lipid profile and urea and creatinine in blood should be checked also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
