Suggest Remedies For Impaired Thoughts Post Intake Of Xanax
My father is in a Nursing home onrehab side . They put him on xAnax without informing us and he has copd he is incoherent and fell tonight with assist from staff. He was sharp when he went into home 15days ago but weak from pneumonia. Now he makes know sense and they gave him 3 doses of this yesterday without any notice to us. After 21 days he wants released and lives alone. He has never handled meds well and seems completely incoherent when he was sharp just physically having problems. How can he be accessed when he cannot even carry a conversation that makes any sense. His legs buckled tonight and he fell at the home even with assistance. They said that put him on it do to anxiety but how can this help an 89 year old man whose goal is to get back home where he lives alone?
Your concern is very right, if has a risk of fall, and is alone, we must avoid such drugs that may cause him to be weak or sleepy.
Even if needed a lower dose is needed and the patient must be kept under observation. I think you should discuss this with his doctor for better management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
