Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has raised red welts along his belt line on his back. They are itchy and worse in the evening and night time. Hydrocortisone cream gives him some relief. He s had them for about 4 days. I used Oxyclean detergent to wash our bedsheets last week, but there has been no other new soaps or foods. He has RLS and other sleep disorders for which he is under doctors care.
* As per my clinical experience, your hubby has dermatitis most likely from bed sheet contact over the region of belt area over back. My guidelines at present
- change bed sheet on a priority basis
- local application of calamine lotion 3 times a day
- tablet Cetirizine ( 10 mg ) two times a day
- control of blood sugar
* Do follow up after 2 days about the progress and further guidelines. Till that time, keep an eye over the lesion progress or resolution.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
