Suggest Remedies For Itchy Throat And Nose Congestion

Hi, so I just barely started sneezing, and experiencing several allergy related symptoms. This odd thing happens almost every time I get an itchy throat, as well as a congested, snotty nose. I get a small bump on the top of the soft part towards the back of the roof of my mouth, making it harder to itch my throat with my tongue. How can I prevent this, and what is it?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy throat and nose congestion along with bump on palate which are pointing towards a condition known as granular pharyngitis.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Do warm saline gargles and betadine gargles 3-4 times a day.

- Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen if there is pain or swelling.

- Avoid hot, sharp, spicy food substances and carbonated beverages.

- Apply numbing pain gel on soft bump on palate.

Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics combination along with decongestants and anti inflammatory medications.
