Suggest Remedies For Itchy Tick Bite On Neck With Puss Filled Scab

Tick bite on my back. We checked the tick after removal, and the entire head was intact. There remains a scab with puss underneath, and it s a bit itchy. How should I treat it? (no rash, no joint pain, fever, headache, etc., just irritation and concern)

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per you query you have itchy tick bite on neck with puss filled scab . The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to condition like sunburn or photoallergic dermatitis . But in your case the symptoms are due to tick bite , which can trigger allergic reaction or sometimes secondary infection. In this condition the symptoms like peeling of skin and dry patches become prominent .

I would suggest you to wash your face and neck area with cold water. Apply cold compresses to your face 2-3 times a day. Take antihisamine drug like benadryl . Apply broad spectrum sunscreen such as TANCARE to face all the times. Apply vitamin C serum at night.

If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment and retinoids .
