Suggest Remedies For Itchy Vagina With Burning Sensation

Hey! I just started to itch and then it turned to a tiny burning feeling in my vagina so I tried using Vagisil for two days and I didn t feel like it was working. So I thought I might have a yeast infection. So i bought monistat and have only used the outside cream three times and the internal cream one time. It burned like crazy but kinda went away. Today I tried using vagisil again because I think I have a BV instead of a yeast infection. But this time, the vagisil burned really bad so I immediately washed it off. I m not sure on what I should do. I don t know if it burned because its probably irritated or what. Can you please help me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Based on the description, it appears that you could be having fungal (yeast) infection of the skin and mucosa of the vagina.
Kindly do the following to overcome the symptoms.
1. Wash the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon thrice daily.
2. After drying, apply Neomycin with hydrocortisone cream over the lesions.
3. Apply single dose antifungal medication like Fluconazole pessary by vaginal route.
4. Take Tablet.Levocetrizine once a day to control itching.
5. Apply moisturizer cream/lotion during bedtime.
6. Use vaginal pH balancing solution like 'v wash' regularly.
7. Wear loose fitting undergarments to provide proper ventilation and avoid friction in the affected area.
8. Abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely.
Maintain clean and good personal hygiene.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside and you should feel better.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
