Suggest Remedies For Kidney Stones, Headache And Chronic Cough

Good evening, I have a friend that has had and now has kidney stones. He is a 74 year old male and is very fit otherwise. he works out every A.M.. And Should he see another specialist and if so, what kind? is not diabetic. He has had B/P spiking from 180/96 to 110/80. He has headaches most of the time, not severe but sometimes worse than others. He has had an evaluation from a Urologist and was to have lithotripsy, but it was cancelled night before treatment was to be done. No explanation about this. he also has a chronic cough, sometimes expectorates after the cough. His PCP has said he has allergies, migraine, blood pressure headaches, and I don t know what all. Any suggestions greatfully accepted

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, renal stone treatment depends upon size of stone.

Usually size less than 4 mm get cleared by hydration therapy.

Stone less than 2 cm can be removed by ECSL or ureteroscopy, beyond that you may require PCNL.

for cough you can take cough syrup containing dextrometharphan.

you may require chest x ray complete haemogram. take tab. tylenol for headache.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
