Hi.my digeson is weak from past few years. Recently I had stomach infection (I had milk and after that I ate soya chips which were spicy) and general physician Doctor prescribed me antibiotic Rifxamin for 5 days. I had indigestion and my diet reduced very much..my weight lost to 5 kg , But after that I have loose stool and a lot anus burning.(as per my homopathic doctor good bacterias died due to antibiotics) so he gave some homeopathy medicine. But as there is no improvement so next week I consult with gystro specialist . Then after diagnose from another doctor, he told me its IBS and prescribed rabeloc 40(empty stomach), LIBRAX and ENTROFLORA Proboitics. Now my diet is back to normal. But still my health sometimes good but sometimes still have loose stool with anus burning. I have started esagbol as well and totally avoiding milk, snacks and outside food but still some times i m having loose stool(2-3 per day) and burning in anus areas. Current doage: Doctor prescribed me LIBRAX and Rabeloc40 (empty stomach) for 2 months. Also vitamin D3 (liquid every week*4). Do I continue probatics as well? Please advise me and help me. I m very upset as its been 1 month and still I m not normal. Also I have one question in my mind , is it could be deficiency of B12. I had lab tests but all were Normal. Attached

Hi,

Watery loose stools are in most cases caused by dietary causes or infectious ones. If this is caused by diet then he should try to rest more and switch to a diet of clear liquids. Drink water, juice, bouillon and weak tea to avoid becoming dehydrated. Replace lost fluids and electrolytes with sports drinks. Avoid coffee or soft drinks that contain caffeine, since caffeine increases the loss of water and salt.

If you have nausea in addition to diarrhea, take very small sips of fluid frequently and suck on ice chips. He also may consider over-the-counter medications such as bismuth subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol) or loperamide (Imodium).

In cases of infectious diarrheas, you should do microbiologist testing of stool and see the exact microbe and then antibiotics can be used additionally.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
