Suggest Remedies For Low Blood Count During Pregnancy
I am 35 weeks pregnant with my second child, and I have a low blood count. This happend when my son was born 4 yrs ago and it kept dropping during my pregnancy and they had to induce me a week early. I bled out after he was born. I am concerned this might happen again. Any advice that might ease my mind?
You have not mentioned which cells are low. However, I presume your haemoglobin and red cells are low. It seems that you have landed into this condition due to the bleeding you had.
You will have to take iron tablets. These tablets are to be consumed on empty stomach to have good absorption. Iron helps to form haem of the haemoglobin. The globin part is formed by proteins. So you will have to take good amount of quality proteins also.
It is always better to have medicine for worms in case of anaemia since some worms do suck the blood.
Now in this pregnancy, you have reached 35 weeks and did not have any untoward incidence, particularly bleeding. I do appreciate your concern. However, timely check up by Obstetrician has taken you uneventfully so far and will take to the term. Let us hope for the best outcome of this pregnancy. Even if you have to deliver one week early, it is OK. By that time the baby is well mature and Obstetricians will take all the precautions keeping your past history in mind.
