Suggest Remedies For Nausea And Diarrhea While On Ramipril And Diamicron
Good evening, My mother had a heart attack a week ago and must go back for a double bypass in a few weeks. After putting one stent in they sent her home on meds. She has been unable to eat since she got home on the 15th. She has diarrhea and feels nauseous and has no appetite, vey unusual for her. The cardiologist put her on: Metropolol, Ramipril,Ticagrelor, ASA in the morning along with her Diamicron. At dinner she is to have Metoprolol and another Diamicron and then at bedtime Astorvastatin and Ticagrelor . The cough from the Ramipril has not subsided but now her ribs her. And the diarrhea makes her not want to eat. Any recommendations? Thank you

GI upset due to various causes in your mom case. Primary guidelines for her better recovery
- Allow her plenty of liquids as boiled water, coconut water, butter milk
- Remain ambulatory
- Avoid sleeping immediately after meals
- Addition of probiotics as fresh yogurt, medications with lacto bacillus and proton pump inhibitor as omeprazole or pantoprazole with sips of water on empty stomach
- Control of blood sugar and blood pressure. Remain in regular follow up with her doc for better management and guidelines to cure at earliest.
