Suggest Remedies For Pain And Cold Sensation Between My Wrist And Elbow

I was holding a heavy suitcase for a little too long and I knew I was straining my muscle, but I thought I could endure and heal later. I expected to heal by the next day but very sore and cold feeling between my elbow and shoulder. After several weeks of trying to forget about it, I went to the doctor to ask how to treat it so that it will heal. (but i forgot to mention the cold sensation). she said tendonitis. cold packs , advil, wrap it. This has helped to keep from re- injury but today I have weird pain between elbow and wrist. I was thinking more like nerve injury? On pain scale maybe like only 3. Should I be doing something different? I am female 42.
