Suggest Remedies For Painful Jaws And Plaque On Molars
Hello. I am 23 years old. Female. I had two wisdom teeth growing for the past 2 years and they usually hurt if I eat red meat. But recently my jaws are hurting and I think I also see some plaques on my molars. I take really good care of my teeth. I brush thrice a day after meals and floss everynight.
As per your query you have symptoms of painful jaws and plaque on molars which could be due to tooth infection which is resulting in abscess and involving tissue spaces and could be due to temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ). Plaque on molars is due to poor oral hygiene as you not able to clean molar area. I would suggest you to consult oral surgeon for proper diagnosis and to rule out other causes. You should try to relax your jaw if it pains while eating. Maintain oral hygiene by brushing and flossing. Gargle with Listerine mouth wash. Go for scaling and root cleaning of molar quadrant and take ibuprofen and acetaminophen for pain. Do mouth stretching exercises.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
