Suggest Remedies For Painful Joint In The Finger Post An Injury

So the other day I fell onto my ring finger so my Mom took me to the ER. We got an xray and nothing was broken, he didn t look anything else over or anything, just looked to see if it was broken. It just said that it was jammed and tapped it and then we left. It s been about three days and it still hurts a lot, the top joint hurts to touch/bend. Do you have any idea what could be wrong with it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to trauma due to the fell. I recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day. I also recommend using cold compresses for relief. You can use a brace to maintain immobilised the finger.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
