Hello, I have had a cough for almost 3 weeks already and it still does not go away. I have trouble sleeping because I cannot breathe I ve taken allergy medicine and nasal spray and i have an inhaler but nothing seems to work. A PA told me it was just allergies but I m not sure.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent cough and breathing problem which is due to leftover infection in your body and although you taking all sort of medication and not getting benefitted. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take preventive measures such as avoid taking cold beverages and take mast cell stabilizers to prevent from infection. You should consult ENT specialist once and get blood test, throat swab test and x ray of the chest done and start treatment accordingly.. You should avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. For now do warm saline rinses and take rest. Start with proper course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications along with steam inhalation which is must for you.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
