Suggest Remedies For Persistent Diarrhea In A Toddler
Dear Dr. My baby is 1 year and three months , he had diarrhea for 4 days now , he is fully immunized . has no fever, no vomiting . We did stool analysis , which showed no pus cells , no parasites , no red blood cells . He has been put on zinc sulphate and oral rehydration salts. Today passes green stool. What do i do?
Your child symptoms seem to be related to a gastroenteritis. It can be caused by a viral infection which is not presented in the stool test. So, I suggest to continue the medication that you are already using. I also suggest to give him liquids. I recommend a plain diet with banana, yogurt and apple juice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
