My son is 6 years old. His fever was around 103 around seven days back.some doctors said it s viral and some said it s enteric typhoid. Though we got examined Igm was negative and typhy. Is also negative... But to be on safer side doctors put him on monocef IV 800mg twice daily. His fever got down in 3-4 days. But doctors still saying that continue monocef IV for 7 days total.. But other doctors saying that it s a viral fever and need not to continue monocef IV. Pls suggest can v stop IV and put him on zify orally..as the child has become cranky with IV . moreover there is no fever since last 36 hours and no other symptoms of illness now..
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have persistent fever which is due to viral infection which is lowering down your immunity and making you prone for infection.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get blood investigation done to check level of infection. You should apply wet cold sheets on your head to lower down body temperature. Avoid hot, spicy and sharp food substances. You should take combination of antiviral drug along with anti-inflammatory drug. Your symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Drink plenty of water. Take hot milk rich in turmeric as it will booster immunity. Take nimesulide along with paracetamol as well.Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
