Suggest Remedies For Persistent Fever In An Elderly Man
My father , 75 years had viral fever going upto 103-104 F , given antibiotics for 10 days , fever came down. but still is getting fever around 100F on everyday basis since last 25 days, we have done several tests , nothing came, finally did PET CT Scan, shows some swollen Lymph in the lungs (4cm size). Doctor advised biopsy but he is too week and everyday getting weeker . Is there anything we can do to bring his fever down and get him some strength so that we can get his biopsy or any other tests done in a week or so.
It is quite possible that the fever may be linked to the reason for the enlarged lymph node (there are some reasons of increased nodes that may cause fever)
The fever itself is not a reason not to do the biopsy but the weakness may be a reason that the biopsy may not be able to be done. He may need to see a nutritionist to see if he can be given a diet that would help increase his strength, a nutritionist may also be able to advise re supplements that may also help as well.
I hope this helps
