Suggest Remedies For Persistent Fever, Low Appetite And Loose Stools In A Toddler

Hi doctor, My chiLD is 3.5years old and had fever (ranging till 101) for 5 daY s. She was active throughout the day, though fever mostly get more after evening and at night. She had light cough with phlegm. We gave her Wikoryl (125 mg syrup -5ml) and tixylix (1 tbsp) for 5 days. On 6th day, she is inactive and refuses to eat. Fever had also gone up to 102. Feeling sleepy all day and had 2 looose motions as well. She had pain in abdomen as well on 6th day. Doctor now prescribed taxim-o syrup (1tbsp) twice a day. I gave taxim o and Wikoryl and tixylix, though after one dose - she has loose motion throughout the night - almost 6 times in 6 hours. Though fever has subsided and she is not having any fever now. Light coughing is still there with phlegm. Only one dose of taxim o given. Please advise if I should use taxim o or if this has caused loose motions. Also advise how to cure loose motions after analysing history. Please also tell what kind of food can be given to her. She is really weak now. Please help.

Hello,

I have gone through your query. It may be due to acute gastroenteritis.

For that he may require syp metronidazole, oral rehydration solution after pediatrician consultation.

For further assessment you may require complete hemogram, stool analysis after consultation.

Keep him hydrated.

Watch for symptoms like dry skin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
