Suggest Remedies For Persistent Lung Congestion And Non Productive Cough

OK, thanks. I m a 62 year old male, good health and physical condition. I had mild lung congestion 8 days ago, then a sore throat that has now lasted 7 days, varying from pretty severe to mild. No fever, no breathing problems. I ve had a steady but unproductive cough. I had a decent hard walk today in the cold weather, had no trouble breathing, but upon coming indoors started coughing badly which irritated my throat again when I felt like it was getting better. I guess that s it. My question is only if I should let what is probably a viral infection of some sort run its course or seek medical evaluation (beyonh this). Thanks!
