Suggest Remedies For Persistent Pain In Back Radiating To Spine And Shoulder Blades

Hello I am a 31 year old female and I have been suffering with back and hip pain for over 3 months now. I am taking regular analgesia as prescribed by my GP. I have had an MRI as my GP was concerned I had Cauda Equina Syndrome which the MRI confirms I don t. I have been told I have degenerative discs and have been diagnosed with Great Trochanteric Bursitis. I have also been seeing a chiropractor for treatment for the last 10 weeks and am not improving. If anything things are getting worse. Walking or resting seems to aggravate things even more. I have now started experiencing very bad itching on my hip area but it is extremely painful to scratch or touch my skin and my back. I m just hurting all over really! The back pain has mainly been in the lower part of the back but now radiates right up my spine to my shoulder blades. I just don t know what to do next. It s really getting me down as occupational health have said I am not fit for work. I have had a baby 7 months ago too. I am desperate for someone to help me!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to muscle sprain.

For that you can take tablet acetaminophen for pain. Heating pads may also help.

Continue physical therapy.

In case of not getting relief you may require MRI neck after orthopedic consultation

Hope I have answered your query, let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale,
