Hello,

It is very rare for cancer to present with pain. Since the pain is there for many months without much progression (except today) the possibility is non cancerous causes.

There could be a herniated disc or some other cause for the pain. In my opinion, rather than guessing it is time to see a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashok Kumar, Psychiatrist
