Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have thrombosed piles. I have never suffered with this condition before. I have been to see my GP who has prescibed a cream but I am not getting much relief. The haemorroid is the size of a boiled sweet and is ulcerated. I am frightened and in considerable discomfort. Other than the cream and plenty of warm baths is there any treatment that will help. It is day 3 now and i dont know how much longer i can put up with this. I can hardly move! Thank you.
Hi. The treatment of the thrombosed piles is standard. The patient has to sleep in a head-down position in prone ( back is up) position. Continue sitz bath. Antibiotic and Anti-inflammatory medicines with pain-killer properties like Ibuprofen. The Surgeon can try to put in the thrombosed pile with the help of lubrication done with Xylocaine jelly. This relieves pain dramatically. Emergency Surgery to remove the piles mass is tried now-a-days , if there is no infection. Discuss this with your GP , get a reference for a General Surgeon.
HI Well come to HCM If this is hemorrhoid then this need to be treated with policresulen Ointment this need to be applied in the piles three times in day, have sitz bath, fiber containing diet, stool softener may be helpful, and Isabgol would be the option, hope this information helps.( Comment:- Surgical management is the best option for this, with the newer technics this gets alright very soon)
