Suggest Remedies For Recurring Sinus Infection With Ringing Ears And Dry Throat

I had recent ear infection/ sinus infection with 2 rounds of augmentine, steroids , nose and ear sprays and drops. It seems to have returned. My ears are ringing, sneezing and slight cough like a dry throat. They suggested tubes of it returned because eustation tubes are full. I have a follow up appointment in a few weeks but it has come back. My co-workers have had strep throat but I tested negative. For flu also. What to do. It ha been this way for eight weeks now and only returned after a day outSide in cold weather at football game.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As you mentioned, the sinus infection seems to have returned based on the symptoms mentioned.

It may be a viral infection that does not require antibiotics but may require some of the other meds- antihistamine-decongestant combination (eg Zyrtec D, Allegra D, Claritine D, Benadryl D) along with the nasal sprays.

A cough suppressant can also be used as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
