Suggest Remedies For Red, Itchy, Spreading Spots On Body After Eating Sushi

My Daughter and I went shopping at a local super market and we bought sushi....she didn't eat any of it but I did and then threw it away as it didn't seem fresh. Now I have little red itchy spots all over my body...what can I do to stop the itchingand spreading of it all over me...even my neck and between my toes....terrible. Should I go to our Family Doctor to get a shot?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from allergic reaction after eating Sushi and in case if it was expired there might be toxic decomposition products formed in it that might be causing symptoms of spreading itchy spots all over the body..

I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get allergic tests like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge test etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

The tests will help in ruling out the exact cause of the allergic reaction and once you know the cause of the allergic reaction you can be treated accordingly..

You can be advised to take anti allergics like Levocetrizine or Allegra along with steroid shot to relieve the symptoms..
Along with it applying steroid ointment over the bumps and doing cool compresses and applying calamine lotion can also help..
