Suggest Remedies For Red Rashes On The Arch Of The Foot

I have a crack like rash on the arch of my left foot. I have dry skin and I had stepped on a staple in a box that was on the floor, I initially thought the pain and the crack was from the staple. I put neosporin on it along with thick foot lotion. It has gotten better but is not going away. I have noticed it has cracked alongside the original crack. It is slightly red, just where the crack is but not red like it would be infected. It has been about 2 weeks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a fungal infection.

I recommend using an antifungal cream for local application such as miconazole cream.

I also recommend using an antifungal oral treatment such as Fluconazole.

I recommend using cotton socks and maintaining good hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
