Suggest Remedies For Redness In The Cut Wound On Shin

Hi ... I fell a week ago last Sunday hit my shin and cut it not very deep at all. Went swimming in a pool not many people use the pool. Still scabbed but red around the almost healed wound. I am overweight and borderline diabetic. But walk everyday and recent blood work normal

It is not abnormal for the area surrounding the wound to still be red since it is not completely healed.
Pink or red periphery is seen in healthy healing wounds.

At present no intervention is needed unless an infection develops. Signs and symptoms of an infection are fever, increased warmth, swelling, discharge, pain, increased redness.

If any of these are present then the application of an topical antibiotic would be needed.
