Recently he has become very aggressive, biting himself, hitting himself in the head, screaming. He has tried to calm himself down but his hands are trembling and his skin has a clamming feeling. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I am sorry he is having this trouble and I am sure it is very hard to see your son like this. I think it best for him to see a psychiatrist if this is an ongoing problem as there are medications that can help with agitation.

I don't know what he is like regularly and so it would be too complicated to guess at what might be best for him.

So - if this is a regular problem, do have him seen, preferably by a physician who has experience with adult patients with autism.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh, General & Family Physician
