Suggest Remedies For Severe Pain In The Back Of The Knee And Ankle

I have pain in back of my knee and ankle so severe that it wakes me from sleep. The pain extends down the side of my knee to the ankle. It bothers me most when I am lying down or doing some exercises during fitness classes. I have no or very minimal pain walking distances of several miles. X-rays of the knee show only very minimal evidence of arthritis in back of the patella. Urgent care told me I had strains of both the IT band and hamstring. Any other thoughts especially about the pain in back of the knee?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. It can be due to lumbosacral disc problems and consequent radical neuralgia.A physical examination by orthopedician followed by x ray of lumbo sacral spine and MRI if needed will be helpful to rule out the condition. muscle relaxants, NSAIDs and physiotherapy will be beneficial in such case.
Hope this may help you.
Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks
