Suggest Remedies For Severe Pain In The Right Hip Radiating To The Knee

Hi my husband has been having severe hip/butt pain (right side) that runs down the outside of his thigh and into his outer knee. I m just wondering if massage or a chiropractor will help. The only relief he gets is when he sits and takes pressure off that leg.

Hello,

The symptoms are consistent with neuropathic causes like sciatica. As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
