Suggest Remedies For Side Effects Of Lithium

Hi I am asking for my son who is at work and I think he may be experiencing some awful side effects of Lithium. He has only been on it for 4days. He said he is feeling horrible physically and he is having a hard time staying standing. Also he is shaking. He also takes 300mg of Effexor ER. Do I need to take him to the emergency room?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your son seem to be related to side effects of Lithium. Some common side effects can be tremors in your hands, trouble walking, increased thirst or urination, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, cold feeling or discoloration in your fingers or toes. I suggest to go at the emergency room for further treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
