Hi,
Welcome to HCM!
I am sorry to hear about your sleeping problem. Unfortunately, this is becoming a very common problem these days in youth.
This could be due to a variety of reasons like stress, increased coffee intake, caffeinated cold drinks, strain, organic diseases etc.

Whatever be the cause, the line of treatment is more or less the same.

Please follow these advices -
1. First and foremost, stop sleeping during day. It will be very difficult for you first time. Try and be outside home during the day so that you can't sleep. You will automatically have a good sleep the following night.

2. Completely stop having coffee, tea or colas. These contain caffeine which have an effect on your sleep.

3. Maintain sleep hygiene. That is, make sure you have a clean and neat bed, pillow, good ventilation in the room.

4. Have a glass of warm milk before going to bed.

5. Don't be under stress. Try yoga and meditation.

6. Don't watch TV late in the night during sleeping time. Don't stare at your mobile screen. Doing this causes strain to your eyes.

7. Don't have to many thoughts in your mind when on bed.

8. Finally, if these measures don't work, visit a Psychiatrist as you may require medical treatment then.

Follow these measures strictly. Mostly patients start sleeping well with the help of these simple meaures and hardly require medications.

Hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.

Wishing you good health.
With warm regards,
Dr. Sridhar
