Suggest Remedies For Sleeplessness

Hi Doc- I have a problem staying asleep, not falling asleep! I wake up 1-4 times to urinate. I am presently taking a 25 mg Benadryl every night one half hour before bed. I am tired of feeling sleepy the following day and groggy from the side effects of the antihistamine. What do you recommend to help me sleep that is as inexpensive as Benadryl without any grogginess?

Hello!
Thank you for your question on HCM!
I understand your concern.
I would recommend to take melatonine 1tb before sleep every night. It is a drug which helps you regulate your biological clock, sleep-wake cycles. It is also produced from our body for this purpose. It is not expensive.
I would also recommend to avoid food containing caffeine during afternoon and lunch, go to sleep every day in the same hour, and try to stay relaxed with closed eyes in bed. It will help you regulate your sleeping hygiene.
Hope to have been of help!
Greetings!
Dr. Aida
