Suggest Remedies For Sore Throat With Green Mucus And Painful White Flakes In The Throat

I have a sore throat with green mucous. I woke up in tremendous pain, and I think there may be white flecks on the back of my throat. Now that I have awoken, have sat up, and coughed some stuff out, I feel better. I don t have a fever, but I feel dizzy and light-headed.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of sore throat with green mucus and painful white flakes in the throat which are pointing towards a condition known as granular pharyngitis due to sever respiratory tract infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with warm saline gargles and betadine gargles 3-4 times a day. You should avoid intake of sharp, oily and spicy food and cold beverages. For pain and swelling you should take ibuprofen or acetaminophen. You should take one spoon honey daily in luke warm water to soothe your throat. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection. Doctor may prescribe proper course of antibiotics such as penicillin or amoxicillin along with anti inflammatory medications.
