Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My knee is very sore in the soft spot below the knee cap...I am a very healthy active male in my forties. Basically a professional ski bum in Jackson , Wy. It seems to come and go, I have done the obvious RICE and try my best to be light on it,But work calls and I have to use it. I ve heard miniscus mentioned. Any thoughts?
Your symptoms seem to be related to a meniscus tear. I recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day. Rest your knee. Use crutches to avoid any weight bearing on the joint.
If the symptoms continue I suggest you see an orthopedist for further evaluation and treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
