Hello,
Speech problems occur due to psychological problems,
anxiety,
stress, neuromuscular disorders, infection/inflammation of the vocal cords,
substance abuse or use of certain medications (narcotics or sedatives).
Quit addictions if any(start tapering slowly). You are suggested to see an ENT, get physically examined to rule out any pathology with the vocal cords. Get treated.
Your ENT can refer you to a speech language pathologist. Get blood, urine tests, Imaging (CT,
MRI, EEG, EMG), brain
biopsy, neuro-psychological tests done.
Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. You can take the help of a speech pathologist or speech therapist who will help you regain normal speech, improve communication, adjust speech rate, strengthen muscles.
Do not get nervous while you talk, there is no need to slow down or speak loudly when you talk. Tell your students not to distract others & create a noisy class. Be assertive.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Take care.
Regards,
