Suggest Remedies For Sporadic Pain And Weakness In Left Thigh

I have sporadic pain and weakness primarily on the side of my left thigh. It is also becoming more prevalent on the front of the upper thigh extending into the groin area. I saw an orthopedic surgeon who said I have arthritis but am not ready for a hip replacement and then dismissed me. I saw a chiropractor who diagnosed sacroiliac issues and treated me for some time until I felt worse after treatment than before treatment. That did help but did not give full relief. I am now working with an exercise therapist who thinks it is IT band, but that is not giving much relief either. Any thoughts on where I go from here?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The intermittent pain in the left thigh from groin area... could be due to joint involvement/inflammation of muscle or tendons around the hip joint, nerve kinking at the spinal, hip or pelvic (sciatic) level. The exact cause needs to be found out by physical examination & MRI of the part... to visualize the details of internal structure. Specific treatment would then be possible with an expert orthopedic surgeon advise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
