Suggest Remedies For Swollen And Painful Vein In The Finger

I have blown a vein in my pointer finger. It is very swollen and painful to bend. What is the best way to treat this. I am on blood thinners because of a Spontaneous Cardiac Artery Dissection. I have placed ice pack on it, but am not sure if I can do anything else for it. Will it be irritated more if I try to use it?

Hello,

I would recommend you to continue with the ice packs, do not use ice directly on the skin but wrap it with a gauze.
You may keep your hand elevated over the heart level if possible and if you are not better in a couple of days or the swelling is getting bigger you will need to have it checked to rule out growing hematoma in the finger. This is the case especially because you are using blood thinners.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
