Hello,
Since you have your ankle swollen & inflamed all of a sudden you are suggested to visit your surgeon for a follow up clinical examination.
In the meantime, you can take Combiflam-400 (one sos when required) or any other NSAIDS for relief from pain & inflammation.
Keep your foot at rest, do not strain unnecessarily. If diabetic keeps your blood
glucose levels under control at all cost for better healing. Control your salt intake & addictions if any.
Post-surgery the medical conditions that may cause such symptoms are implant breakage, ankle
osteoarthritis, deep infection,
nerve damage, bone misalignment, arthrofibrosis or
malunion, etc.
Get X-ray done, CT &
MRI if required to detect the cause of inflammation & pain. Get treated at the earliest.
You may be treated with medications or surgery if there is a major complication.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
