Hi, I have visited my doctor quite a few times now regarding problems with my vagina, my vagina does not get wet anymore, it used to be perfectly fine and healthy but the dryness started about 6 months ago now, I m only 18, sexually active and this causes sex to be very painful for me, my vagina just feels really dry so after sex I be really sore and my vagina be s very swollen. I have been tested for STD s but everything has came back clear. There is something wrong with my vagina but the doctor has not helped me, is there anyway you could possibly know what s wrong?
Hi there, I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.
First of all do not panic.
It's good to know that you do not have STDs as per your tests. As such STDs won't cause vaginal dryness.
I usually suggest to my patients, to indulge enough in foreplay so as to produce good wetness in and around the vagina. Even after this if you still feel vaginal dryness, I will suggest you to use water based lubricant jelly, like K-Y jelly. Even human saliva is considered as safe and good lubricant.
I will not be wrong to suggest you to get a proper sex counseling done to know about safe and protected sex. This will help to prevent unwanted pregnancy and STDs.
I hope this answer helps you. Thanks. Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar
