Suggest Remedy Chlamydia Infection

I had chlamydia and took 200mg of Tarivid/Ofloaxcin twice daily for 5 days and the chlamydia went away. A few days later, I became reinfected and took the same dosage again but the chlamydia didn't go away.I'm assuming that it has become resistant to the antibiotic so I'm contemplating the dosage to 600mg.What are the effects of this?Do you think this would work?Any other advice?Thank You

Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Thnx to contact us. I understand your concern.

If I am your doctor I advice you that chlamydia is treated by either doxycycline 100 mg two times a day or azithromycin 1gm single dose. It is never treated by the ofloxacin. You can switch to one of the antibiotics prescribed above. During the week of treatment please avoid sexual intercourse to get away of the cross infection to the partner. Partner also given the same treatment for same period. once both of you are cured, you can resume with sexual activity.
I will be happy to answer more of your concerns, kindly know me,
Wish you a very good health at health care magic.
