Suggest Remedy For A Black Stripe On The Sclera

Hi. This may sound strange, but I was looking in the mirror on sunday afternoon and I noticed a black vertical stripe, maybe 2mm long on the outside corner of the of the sclera of my left eye. It was only there for a second or 2, then it was almost like it dissolved , back into my eye. I ve been doing some research and I m starting to get really worried it might be Loiasis. I was planning to call my GP first thing in the morning, but do you think I need to go to A&E now? I m not sure of my e-mail password right now, but I m going to leave my fiance s e-mail address. Pls let me know what you think. Many Many Thanks, Carey Mansell x

Hi
With all respect to your worry, it is unlikely to be ocular loiasis.
Usually it is common near dense forests of Africa.
The worm will be appearing as creeping under the superficial surface coat of the eye.
Usually associated with itching, redness, pain and or light sensitivity.
If it is there it should stay creeping at least for few minutes.
I know it's confirmation is difficult because adult worm is to be identified in smear. But the treatment is very easy.
DEC tabs and albendazole tabs may help.
At present , do not worry , just watch.
