My mother has been told today that she has a 13 cm cyst one one ovary. The ultrasound scan detected no other abnormalities on any other of her organs. The lady who conducted the scan said it was only a cyst and it looked like it was full of water. She is waiting for the doctor's to decide when they will remove the cyst and what future treatment will be required. My mother is 52 years old with no ovarian cancer in the family and regular smear tests carried out. Can you give me any feedback which can put my mind at ease a little please doctor?
