I have a 3 dia sebaceous cyst on my hip that is too deep to reach with a needle. I tried squeezing it and felt it rupture under the skin and change shape, but it did not drain from the surface. No obvious sign of infection. Is it okay to leave it alone as long as it doesn t seem infected?
Hi. As per your case history of sebaceous cyst, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily to prevent infection. 3. Only curative treatment is excision under local anesthesia done by a dermato-surgeon.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
