Suggest Remedy For A Knot Under The Skin On The Inside Of The Arm

I have a knot under my skin on the inside of my arm adjacent from my elbow. I have been using that area for injection for the past few weeks. am scared that it could be more than just an abscess, but really want to avoid going into a medical facility if possible. What should I do?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Getting a knot under skin after injection is common possibility, - immediatly after injection/the medicine has leaked in to the skin. this is mostly a inflammatory response of body which subsides after drug is absorbed in blood within 24 hours.
- in case it persists for longer time, that indicates severe inflammation-which may turn in abscess if nor cared for.
- In early stages, it can be managed by- hot fomentation, Application of heparin gel 2-3 times a day.( not to be applied on an open wound), taking oral anti inflammatory pills like Ibuprofen twice a day after food.

- In case it does not subside ,pain increases & fever starts, you would need a course of antibiotic with a doctor's advise.
Thanks.
