Suggest Remedy For Abdominal Cramps When Having PCOS

I was diagnosed with PCOS over 10 years ago and have been taking 1000mg of Metformin eversince. My period has been regular and have been ttc for about 6months now. Since Metforminm, I have been on 28 - 35 day cycle. I missed my period last month so I took a home preg test on day 14 but it the result was negative. I am now on day 38 and been having lower abd cramping for a few days now. The cramping will last for maybe 30 min then it would go away. What do you think is happening? Can Metformin patients get a false preg test result?

Hello,

The following may cause false negative pregnancy test in your case:
1) Metformin
2) PCOS leads to irregular and uneven hormones leading to false negative pregnancy test though you are pregnant
3) Hormonal birth control pills

Therefore, there are high chances of you being pregnant. My suggestions are as follows:
1) Immediately consult your gynecologist
2) Early pregnancy scan can reveal
3) You may be asked to alter the dosage of metformin
4) You may need to take few tests like oral glucose tolerance test to rule out gestational diabetes
