Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a problem with sensitive hands. This has happened since I was a young child and I am now 77 years old. It seems to be getting worse. Sometimes I don t want to touch anything slick, like the cover of a book when I m reading. I am on medication for anxiety. Could this problem be related to anxiety?
I went through your details. Do you think this sensitive hand issue is really from anxiety? Have you went through other diagnosis for physical problems? If you are sure this issue is due to anxiety issue, and is with you even now, then why do you want to worry about. It was with you for all these years and did not do any harm to you. Over and above, it has become a part of you and in that aspect why worry. If you want to cure it, you have to face it head strong. Go ahead and do the irritating / anxiety provoking stimulus again and again and again. Otherwise, just ignore it and accept you have it and you don't care.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications. Good luck. Take care.
