Suggest Remedy For Anxiety After IV Sedation For Teeth Extraction

My 18 year old daughter started Zoloft for anxiety 3 weeks ago. At the same time she quit smoking marijuana & tobacco. She had a very good effect with the Zoloft, surprisingly good. This week, she had wisdom teeth extraction under IV sedation and since yesterday has been feeling very anxious and tense...similar to how she felt before starting treatment. Any thoughts? Pehaps the meds for her teeth extractions didn t react well with the Zoloft?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Anxiety and tense feeling post IV sedation for teeth extraction can be due to interaction of the medicines that he must be taking post extraction..
It is commonly known as Drug Interaction.
Some medications can suppress the activity of Zoloft and lead to exaggeration of the symptoms..
It seems to be a case with your daughter..
Consult her Physician/ Psychologist and get her evaluated and better take the prescription of the dental treatment..
The Physician can alter the doses of medicines or change the drugs to ease the symptoms..

Hope she gets better soon..

Regards.
