General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the Biaxin is a strong erythromycin antibiotic. It is used in variety of skin and respiratory tract infections with excellent outcomes in terms of recovery. However, many side effects pause a threat to its use and prime one is GI upset with loose stools and vomiting (though less). The usual time period varies from 1-2 weeks for regaining of the bowel incontinence episodes. Following measures will help for faster recovery:
- Plenty of liquids including oral rehydration salt
- Continue pre and pro biotics
- Prefer fresh curd to supply GI flora
- Avoid all spices, non veg, junk foods

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
