Suggest Remedy For Breathing Problem While Sleeping

Hi, as i am drifting off to sleep I get a weird sensation as if my breathing has stopped and i wake up and gasp for breath this has been happening for several weeks. they were initiallly terrifying but i then diagnosed myself with sleep panic as it was the only thing that described the sensation
however the "attacks" keep happening and there is no obvious anxiety before they have gotten increasingly worse this week happening lik 10 times in a row is it potentially something more serious?
