Hi, I got a bump under my armpit years ago, I got it removed through surgery but I got a huge scar that eventually developed into a keloid. It s quite bumpy and noticeable, is there any way I can make it smaller or at least flat? I ve been told by two surgeons that, based on the area it s located in, if I try cosmetic surgery I might worsen the problem Thanks in advance
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of bumps under the armpit. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like folliculitis infection or it could be a sign of improper hygiene, lymphadenitis or allergic reaction can also possible . Need not to worry. you should avoid touching or pricking area with any sharp object. I would suggest you to apply warm compresses several times a day , apply over the counter antibiotics and anti inflammatory cream , take benadryl twice a day and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult general practitioner for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with antibiotics and anti inflammatory. You can get it surgically removed as well.
